MY STORY

What I offer and how this supports the next generation

I have17 years of experience in the healing arts woven together with my experience as a mother. I have created a loving, healing, safe, and sacred space for those tending the next generation to come rest in. In this space I offer craniosacral, myofascial release bodywork, and Hakomi-mindfulness somatic centered sessions. I know intimately the deep layers of exhaustion that can arise from raising kids in our present world. It is my sacred offering to our community to provide a space to use my skills to help support a cultural shift for parents, caregivers and all people toward slowing down and tending to our inner life, our bodies, our nervous systems, and unwinding the stresses of life. Come take a break and fill back up. Taking this time for self-care will support you to nurture the children you love. This may seem small but it is an essential piece to raising this next generation in a loving, sustainable and healing way.

A little about me

I grew up on an organic farm on the Kalapuya lands of rural Oregon. I have travelled and lived in many places from the Hawaiian Islands to Colorado and have circled back to living in Oregon with my husband and son. We spent 5 years stewarding 35 acres of land while simultaneously becoming new parents. During those 5 years our family became deeply interconnected to the natural world, to the food that sustains us, and to the rhythms and seasons that remind us of the sacred cycles of life. I feel a sense of realness, and truth, and a deep desire to use the trainings and skills that I have acquired in my life to support others as they embark on the journey of mothering/parenting.

My studies

In 2010, after 5 years of practicing as a LMT in Oregon, I took my studies to the next level by studying at the Pacific School of Bodywork and Awareness in Kauai. There I completed an extensive training in Structural Integration and Myofascial Release Therapy.

Returning to Oregon I built a thriving bodywork practice in Portland. In 2013, I began studying Visionary Craniosacral work with Hugh Milne. This training deepens one’s intuition, teaches advanced therapeutic techniques, and promotes the benefits of subtle touch. It opened me to the profound healing that arises when one contacts another with the right pressure, in the right spot, with the right intention. A natural orientation towards healing follows. I have watched again and again how a person's whole being will move back into balance and health when given a safe and healing environment, a loving presence, and proper therapeutic technique.

In 2016, I completed a postpartum doula training with INNATE postpartum care.

In 2015, I embarked on a 2-year Hakomi training in Colorado. Hakomi is a mindfulness-centered somatic psychotherapy. This has allowed me to support my clients in a deeper and more encompassing way. I spent 4 years raising my son, navigating a pandemic and stewarding land and returned to my studies through an extended Hakomi training in 2021/2022 and became a Certified Hakomi Practitioner. https://hakomiinstitute.com/ May my life experience and these offerings weave a fabric of support for those raising the next generation.
